Mason Wyler Raped
Porn Star Mason Wyler one of the hardest working, most popular professionals in gay porn, has according to his website Monday morning, been the victim of a brutal assault and rape.
The 24 year old former Dallas resident was in Houston when according to Masons blog post at Wylernation.com he invited a man into his home. He has acknowledged it was a hookup that went horribly wrong.
Mason posted pictures of his bruised face and his welt covered back and neck, and describes in detail what he said happened. I was asked why no Gay Porn news site reported on Masons assault early today. Jason Curious broke the story this evening. A friend and reader Bill Olson alerted me to the My Space bulletin posted by Mason Monday morning and I spent the afternoon checking with gay journalists to see if they had confirmed the story. The first rule of journalism is you talk to the source first before you publish.
No one has been able to reach Mason to hear from him firsthand what happened.
In an updated post this evening Mason wrote this.
The truth is I did get raped by a guy who claimed to be a Captain in the U.S. Army. And the truth is I did invite him into my home. He was attractive and he looked normal. I guess thats incredibly stupid of me to judge someones character based solely on appearances. But I trust people on day one until they lose it instead of making people earn my trust.
We had a bit of small talk, he told me that he was gay, and that he had seen some of my work and kept up with my myspace page. In a joking manner he asked for his reward for finding my wallet and I did come on to him. I kissed him and he kissed me back. But within a few short moments things quickly turned ugly.
What is apparent Mason was the victim of a brutal assault, the photos bear this out. All taken Saturday and Sunday. I do hope Mason is reading this and the more positive comments on his blog and getting some help with what has been a traumatic experience. When he feels well enough maybe he can elaborate on his blog or to a journalist what happened.
For now I think Mason summed up what he is feeling and how difficult all this is to process.
For those of you who are truly my fans and friends, please excuse my erratic behavior. I'm a mess right now.
I've been writing and talking about it to whoever will listen, hoping to write and talk about it so much that I have nothing left to say about it and can hopefully move on.
I hope for the best as a victim of male rape myself I understand what he is going thru.

I must say, however, I can't blame people for first thinking it might be a hoax. Writing this up as a faux news story on a blog was NOT the way to go, in this day and age of porn publicity stunts (recall Michael Lucas' "murder").
Advice on what to do now: If he as he says currently has "the fucker's wallet," post photos of ALL the IDs contained therein. Do not edit or black out a thing.
If as he says he's merely interested in private revenge (as opposed to government justice) at this point, well, this oughta do it.
I agree with Jim. If he truly has the perpetrator's wallet, then Mason has a military ID (if it is true that he is a Captain in the Army), a DL, credit cards, and so forth. Publish the front and back of each, especially the credit cards with their security codes. Doing so could get him killed, of course, but if he wants to play private hardball and not prosecute, he is holding all the cards if he is telling the truth.
Mason's account of this incident is not especially coherent. It sounds like the police expended a lot of man-hours on this case, and I don't blame them for being irritated at Mason's apparent ingratitude. And the fuck the troops line isn't going to win friends or influence people, either, especially not a Houston jury.

Mason's reaction is very much in line of a rape victim. The victim struggles to find his voice and to state what happened. Faux news story, big whoop. Mason was the victim of a major crime. He needs to tell his story in his own words, in his own way, in his own good time.
You will note that Mason wrote a follow up--what he is really thinking and feeling right now.
Let's be frank guys. Men are rape victims too. The police may pooh pooh that idea because well guys from the strongest bull stud to the most effete fop to the quintessential straight to the most masculine gay man can and do happen to be raped. NO RAPE VICTIM DESERVES TO BE TREATED LIKE ARMS LENGTH TRASH. A guy like Mason is the best witness to the crime and he noticed much and will be tremendous in bringing the victimizers to justice.
Those responding Houston, Texas officers deserve a sanction for their less than professional behavior. Unless you have interviewed a victim of brutal, forcible sexual assault and seen the terror in their eyes and the horrific injuries one human being can inflict on another, along with hours spent trying to gain their confidence and reassuring the victim that the victimizer will not return, discussing how Mason chose to report is dust and piss in the wind. Mason is to be commended for being vocal and angry and wanting his story out there.
He does need to bitch in a formal written complaint to the Sheriff's Department so that law enforcement official can investigate the inaction of the city police and he needs to file a written complaint with the local prosecutor and he does need to visit the local FBI office to complain about his civil rights being violated.
Rape effects every single one of us and we all need to offer our support and understanding to the victim, especially a victim who does the right thing and attempts to aid the police in their investigation. Shame on anyone condoning vendetta and blood feud. It cheapens the law and justice for every man jack of us and solves nothing. For every lazy assed shit for brains, male and female with a shield, there is another strongly dedicated professional who is there for the victim and doing what the public expects--to bring a brutalizer to justice.
Peanut gallery justice is nothing more than the same bullshit of the Mob in the Roman Colisseum-- spectacle, jingoism and more victims.
Mason needs a good Rape Crisis Counselor, family and friend support and even some down time to get his bearings.
Least I forget to mention this. For well wishers of Mason Wyler--the police confiscated his PC and cell phone and that would tend to explain why he is not responding to emails and calls. The police did do that because they believe that victimizer contact information may be found on Mason's computer and cell phone.
I have now read every word I could find on this story, even all of the comments on his posts, and unfortunately am only 51% convinced that this is real at this point. There are so many things that don't add up that I won't even attempt to enumerate them. And I feel bad even saying that, because the worst thing a rape and assault victim can experience is people doubting their veracity. I hope some proof is provided soon. If it isn't, and the incident did truly happen, then sadly he will be victimized all over again by doubters like me. And, sadly, he will be partly to blame for that because of the way he initially reported the story.

I took that to mean that he used his brother's computer and let's be candid here. Mason did what many victims do. He left his home for a hotel room because, and I paraphrase Mason here, [he] could not stand to return to the place he was raped.
If Mason had not added that detail, I would have thought publicity maven. Then, the eye injury, probable broken nose, possible mouth injury that he covered over with the wipe and the cuts and welts on his neck do it for me. Bondage and S&M may leave welts, but it generally is not going to lead to a serious eye injury. That kind of hit to the face bespeaks concussion.
So far, I give Mason the benefit of a doubt.

Rob, if i were writing this, I would think that the lost wallet conceit doesn't work, especially if it happens twice. As we say in the South, that shit don't flush. That is the wisest course. I do not feel rape, in any fashion, should be tolerated. Citizens employ peace officers to investigate and bring evidence to a prosecutor, with a detained suspect or suspects, before the bar of justice. If the police are not doing the job, they need to be raked over the coals of public scrutiny for inaction. A major crime is a major crime and needs to be pursued.

My understanding was Mason lost his wallet at a club/bar. The suspected US Army captain is supposed to have found it and contacted Mason to return his wallet with tragic consequences. So is/was Mason "hooking up" and/or advertising for a "hook up?" Not sure. At any rate, Mason was not looking to get raped.

Another thing that makes his story false is he claims the police would not allow him in the bathroom or bedroom to mess up the crime scene. He is the victim, his DNA would naturally be all over his place. The victim cannot mess up a rape crime scene. I think this guy needs help and watches too much crime TV.
The one thing that didn't jive with me was the comment he claimed the "alleged" rapist made about the reward. Supposedly he found the wallet at the bar, then went home and found Mason's MySpace page and read about the reward. I'm sure "Mason Wyler" is his nom de porn and his driver's license would have his birth name. Mason's MySpace is under Mason Wyler.
As for myself, my biggest problem is, as Geoff mentioned, the perp's wallet. It is just thoroughly unbeiievable that the police would not have found it -- how "hidden" could it have been if the guy dropped it -- and why the hell would he withhold that evidence? Even though he says he doesn't want to follow through and press charges, I believe it is a crime at this stage of the investigation to withhold evidence like that. Simply does not add up.

There are 7 comments to the missing wallet post, most pre-crime. Unless the time/dates on the comments were faked as well (is that possible?).
The curious thing about this heavily redacted police report is that while he redacted the name of the PD at the top, he neglected to redact the fine print at the bottom. It indicates it is a form used by the Dallas PD. Not Houston.

Thinking this over...I think the most likely scenario at this point is Mason got beat up...but not by this fictional rapist.
FWIW, I do not think it is a publicity stunt. It is too poorly and randomly thought out to be merely that, IMO.
For some reason, Mason did indeed get these bruises and black eye (they look real to me) but, for whatever reason, Mason is trying to conceal how he really got them.
A domestic abuse situation Mason does not want revealed? That's what my gut is telling me at this point...time will tell if I'm right.
If it's a domestic abuse situation, or anything else that he wanted to cover up, why go public with this fake story? Only a few of his close friends had to see him bruised and battered, why not just give them a cover story and leave it at that? This still smells of a publcity stunt to me. And I don't find the photos of his injuries completely convincing, though I'm no expert.

Mason Wyler is not guilty of anything yet. Why? He is not the one being charged with any crime. The arrest report screen captured by Will makes clear that he did file a complaint. More telling is the investigator (detective) shield number assigned. The Houston Police are doing something.
Next, considering Mason's 2nd statement at his own blog, Mason is obviously confused and angry. The perp's wallet most likely was turned over to the police, but probably not right away because of Wyler's sense that the responding police officers were not taking his report of being raped seriously.
I am going need more than JustUsBoys forum to jettison Mason's version of his rape, for example, a reputable news outlet to provide more information on Mason's situation.
My sense is Mason was raped. The police reaction is typical--Men are not rape victims, regardless of gender preference. For me his reaction is typical: Mason did not want to stay in his apartment, the scene of his rape. That reaction is typical. As for his journalized rape fantasies, don't read too much into that because it falls into the category of whimsy. Because someone has a fantasy, should not be taken that that person is looking for violence against himself.

Did Wyler move to Houston from Dallas with his BF, Marcus before they broke up? Because it does sound like a domestic situation that got out of hand now.
He claims rape. If this is a publicity stunt for a porn studio or his own website, it is extremely poor taste and shows little judgment and discretion on Mason's part. There are too many real rapes and sexual assaults for someone to pull this for sympathy.

From Wyler's site, posted the same day that the 'incident' allegedly happened:
"DNA test results from the semen samples collected from the inside of Wyler's anal canal and rectum confirmed that there were at least three different assailants although most of the genetic fluid was from Vanarro."

And then he makes the second post, saying what "really" happened.

UPDATE 10/8: After Mr. Wyler posted a police report on his website, QueerClick attempted to get in contact with Mr. Wyler for his side of the story. We were unable to, so we posted an update with evidence that the police report was forged.
We have taken that update down after speaking with Mr. Wyler via telephone. In our conversation with him, Mr. Wyler told QueerClick he faked certain aspects of his story, including the police report posted on his website, to protect other parties involved in the incident.
Mr. Wyler provided his proper case number, his legal name and the full details around the incident. QueerClick is attempting to verify Mr. Wyler's story with the proper authorities and will update this post again when we are able to.
From our conversations with him, we understand why he faked certain information, however we do not believe he did so in his best interest. If he is going to be only telling partial truths, and partial fabrications, and then only reveal a bit more each time someone catches a discrepancy, then that is not full disclosure, or being truthful. We wish he would have given very little information in the first place—all of this wouldn't have been an issue.
We wish Mr. Wyler a full recovery. We want to see him get back to making porn very soon.

For now I reserve judgment except to say "Something" happened based on photos 2 and 3. Yes I confirmed they are Mason Wyler the large mole on his back is correct and the scar barely visible on his Ass cheek.

1.I believe something violent and unprovoked has happened to Mason Wyler.
2.Yes many aspects of his story are collapsing.
3.Based on a phone call this afternoon I might be inclined to believe this may be a case of Mason covering for someone else.

Mason provided his legal name, case number, etc. and according to Queer Click.
A rape counselor commenting at Queer Click stated something that should be considered and that rape counselor identified those comments as such.
Next, some sort of sexual assault took place and that a presummed forcible sexual assault. I do believe he posted to legit pictures the pictures of his back and the face pic with the bruised eye and covered mouth, indicating a possible injury to his mouth such as a badly cut lip.
It is clear that Mason broke up with his ex BF, Marcus. It is conceivable that he and his ex had a fight. However, that is conjecture and would be a plausible explanation based on the information from the phone call the Queer Click Commentator had with Mason Wyler. Another plausible version is that a man he met in that club was not such a wise choice in hooking up. At this point, the signs are present that Mason WAS sexually assaulted. The particulars are wanting.
For the time being, I would lay aside the publicity stunt spin until more becomes known.
I think we all pretty much have Mason's number now. The business about badmouthing the police, the hospital, and the Army is what tightened my jaw. His blooger site says that he wants to get a doctrorate in education, and he wants his readers to send him money to reach that goal. (If you send in some cash, he will disclose his real name to you. So Paypal has cut him off, now. I love Paypal. I love Bank of America for catching the creeps who went on an internet spending spree with my credit card, but that's an unrelated matter.) With a doctorate, either Ed.D. or Ph.D., in education, you can either be an administration weasel in a government school district or an ed school faculty ferret at a collge. Take your pick. Ah, the two pontificators chime in. One with an unrelated bash at education and both with an unrelated, flip remark about Mason's being out of shape.
I do think Mason has some explaining to do regarding the patchwork and faux police complaint form. It is quite clear that some sort of physical altercation took place. Why Mason is applying gilt to the story is not wise, but it is the reaction of someone who has been traumatized. The question remains, was Mason Wyler forcibly sexually assaulted? None of us can answer that with certainty.
Having stated that position, I point out that Queer Click reports that Mason gave the true case number and the some other particulars to Queer Click to be checked out. Sounds like he is trying to give out what he can.

Not a far fetched speculation, given that he has already faked a police report.
I should also point out the white balance difference in the photos...the latter two, if you notice, were shot with a much more "yellow" color cast. You have to ask yourself "why?"

Very true, Rob. But I think, unfortunately, that -- whatever turns out to be the truth here -- Mason himself is the one who has trivialized it by posting fictional accounts and forged documents. That is a real tragedy for any real victims who may be doubted in the future because of his actions.

Ah Jim this is the point at which you should have checked out exactly where Mason Wyler was living at the time of the rape--Dallas, Texas not Houston and then the Dallas PD Complaint form makes sense and is legit.
Mason did move to Houston with Marcus, his BF but that was to put daylight between the scene of the rape and himself which is a very typical rape victim reaction to a forcible, brutal assault.
Mason is consistent. I don't like the way in which he chose to break this news to the public, but he chose this way.
So much for the PR stunt theory.
