Return of the Mashup
You may have noticed the Sunday Mashup just went missing, well not from lack of readers or interest. I simply found the self imposed deadline of Sunday was not working, being the weekend I was spending too much of my Sunday on the Cell talking instead of Blogging! Then you throw in the wonderful spring weather and that nasty little story last month about bloggers croaking from lack of exercise,,,well you can see the motivation to get out a bit more! In the age where crime may now be carried out from behind a computer terminal, the world’s largest software maker is lending a hand to law enforcement against cybercrime. Microsoft said this week it will freely distributing a specially developed USB thumb drive device that is able to quickly extract forensic data from computers used in criminal activities. The device is called COFEE, or Computer Online Forensic Evidence Extractor, which was officially revealed to law enforcement experts on Monday, reported the Seattle Times. Traditional procedures in cybercrime investigation call for seizure of all computer equipment at the scene of the crime, but the COFEE tool allows for immediate gathering of evidence such as passwords, internet activity and other critical data all without the need to disturb the area. The tool is capable of executing more than 150 commands to access data on a given computer system. According to CNET, the COFEE tool was originally developed by Ricci Ieong and Anthony Fung, whom are members of the High Tech Crime Investigators Associate’s (HTCIA) Asia South Pacific Chapter. Microsoft did not share the exact contents of the COFEE drive, but did say that it is all composed of publicly available tools. “The key to COFEE is not new forensic tools,” said Tim Cranton, associate general counsel for Microsoft, “but rather the creation of an easy to use, automated forensic tool at the scene. It's the ease of use, speed, and consistency of evidence extraction that is key.” Contrary to earlier reports of COFEE being able to defeat Windows BitLocker with access to a backdoor, Microsoft said that it simply isn’t true. “COFEE does not circumvent Windows Vista BitLocker encryption or undermine any protections in Windows through secret 'backdoors' or other undocumented means,” added Cranton. COFEE is currently in use by more than 2,000 officers in 15 different countries, including the U.S., Germany, Poland, New Zealand and the Philippines
The deadline was the big problem, self-imposed or not I, We, all hate deadlines and some Sundays were a challenge while other days the mashup nearly wrote itself.
So in bringing back the mashup I will make some changes, a flexible posting schedule, look for it near the weekend Friday thru Sunday. I will try for an earlier post since most of us have time to read a longer post only on the weekends and my readership is 20% higher on Saturday and Sunday!
As for the format look for the usual mix of whatever catches my eye in a given week,Movies, video, politics, tech and yes porn!
Speaking of Porn a dear friend and fellow blogger made an observation today, that with the increasing advos' and porn posts my blog was starting to resemble one of those "Click me Blogs"
He has a VALID point and the mashup will help bring a sense of balance back to my Blog. I do want an interesting, and fast paced blog which just happens to cover porn from a fan perspective! We have all seen CLICK ME Porn Blog. they are the infomercials of the Blog world!
I will continue to post porn promos, but you can be certain if I push a photo set, video or Studio its because I personally find it my "cup of tea"
If you looked in my email box at what I ignore vs what I blog on, you would understand I am being VERY Selective with my posts!
Tech News;
Microsoft Brews Cybercrime-Fighting COFEE Tool
I have to mention this story, mainly because a certain technically clueless blogger made such an issue of the story. There was a bit of buzz on several tech Blogs this week about Microsoft distributing a free USB Thumb drive to Police with software that would allow law-enforcement to rapidly download incriminating evidence off a suspects hard drive instead of physically removing the drive.
Nothing really new here Microsoft got some free "good citizen" publicity for providing about 150 free or cheap PC forensic tools on a convenient USB drive for the Boys in Blue (or the G people)
The tools do NOT expose any backdoors or defeat encryption they simply access rapidly in an organized way the History,Internet Cache, bookmarks, etc that are left on any operating PC.
Some people have made a issue over privacy concerns or Microsoft being in bed with what
The Good Guys?
I would be more concerned with giving the FBI, et al the tools they need to combat cybercrime!
Believe me I feel most law enforcement is still playing "catch up" and with the ever increasing move by the "real" criminals to the "online" world frankly they need all the help available!
Here is the original article from Daily Tech
While Microsoft is being a good corporate citizen maybe they need to pay attention to Bizness!
First Vista's SP1 update was delayed for many users downloading thru Windows Update now Service Pack 3 for XP has been held back. Why? It breaks functionality in a Microsoft retail software system! (Left hand,Right hand)
Read on in the meantime I have turned Auto Updates OFF once again, until I am assured Microsoft has their act together or a reasonable facsimile of such Act!
Bad news for those looking to get the latest XP service pack
DailyTech reported earlier today that Windows XP's third service pack was ready for full deployment via Windows Update, as promised by Microsoft. However, in an eleventh hour move sure to draw criticism, the service pack was yanked by Microsoft and will not be released on April 29th as previously promised.
The pack was pulled because it breaks or otherwise compromises the Microsoft Dynamics Retail Management System (RMS). The RMS application is relatively uncommon and is chiefly used by small/midsize businesses, making Microsoft's decision to pull the pack seem a bit unusual. A Microsoft spokesman released the following statement about the problem:I wanted to update you on today’s planned release to web (RTW) (of XP SP3). In the last few days, we have uncovered a compatibility issue between Microsoft Dynamics Retail Management System (RMS) and Windows XP SP3 and Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1).Microsoft released the service pack to manufacturers last week. After complaints from Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) and TechNet subscribers, it released the service pack to them as well.In order to make sure customers have the best possible experience we have decided to delay releasing Windows XP SP3 to Windows Update and Microsoft Download Center.
To help protect our customers, we plan to put filtering in place shortly to prevent Windows Update from offering both service packs to systems running Microsoft Dynamics RMS. Once filtering is in place, we expect to release Windows XP SP3 to Windows Update and Download Center.
Until we have published a fix for this issue, we advise Microsoft Dynamics RMS customers to not install either service pack. Microsoft Dynamics RMS customers running Windows XP SP3 or Windows Vista SP1 should contact Microsoft Customer Support Services for additional information.
The fix is currently in testing and will be available as soon as that process is complete.
Microsoft acknowledges that some users have downloaded the file through direct links. It is advising against doing so. It states:Customers should not download Microsoft software from links posted on non-Microsoft websites, when those links point directly to the executable as is the case here. Customers should always download from a page on Microsoft.com that provides all relevant download details, installation instructions, and release notes. In this particular case, it’s possible that some 3rd party websites are linking to the Windows XP SP3 software that we have published for MSDN and TechNet subscribers. Since we cannot confirm the source of every link that 3rd parties provide, out recommendation is that customers wait until we’ve published Windows XP SP3 to Windows Update and the Download Center.Apparently the RMS glitch applies to Vista's first service pack as well. Unlike XP SP3, Microsoft will not be pulling Vista SP1, but it is halting automatic downloads of the pack. Says a Microsoft spokesman:Microsoft is temporarily holding any additional automatic distribution of Windows Vista SP1. However, they continue to offer Windows Vista SP1 via Windows Update for interactive installation. While we are recommending that customers running Microsoft Dynamics RMS should not install SP1, there are many other customers who can benefit from installing Windows Vista SP1 immediately, so we are maintaining availability via WU.Previously Vista SP1 distribution was halted due to reboot problems caused by one of the pack's prerequisites.
Vista SP1 and XP SP3 provide various bug fixes, security, and performance updates to their respect operating systems.

I like it how you manage to mention Brent and place a link to BCI in a post that contains absolutely no Brent-News. :o) And there are some Brent-News. Actually.
Just to clarify. The clip followed by the mentioning of former porn star Iijima Ai. She's the 3rd guest/celebrity challenge. Around the 5th minute after.
That's the version 4. the first clip was Version 5.
Jim I knew I would get confused I watched five clips!
Now Bryn, why would it surprise you that Brent gets a mention in a place that has nothing to do with him? Japanese Anime and game shows got more than 20 minutes of promo here on a gay oriented, American gay blog devoted to mostly gay subjects regarding gays. By contrast, Brent fit right in.
I didn't mean it negative, Albert. I really like it how DeWayne did it.
I know Bryn. I was making fun of DeWayne for co-opting so much of my time making me watch,.... that stuff. I am beginning to think that he needs to include a synopsis of the videos he posts. Something like,
"In this amazing and amazingly long clip, we see 100 Japanese adolescents trying to recall the names (and sometimes voice over artists) of 100 anime characters. Since Brent Corrigan is not an anime character [yet], I thought I should mention him now to cover all my bases. (Disclaimer: BRENT CORRIGAN is not in this clip.) Enjoy. Love ya'll, DeWayne"
Now Brynawel, marry us dammit. I am bi. We can both work on DeWayne and each other. :)
Yes, Albert, lets do it. If everything goes according to plan, I am in San Francisco in July.
We will be an awesome threesome.
Polyandry - Time for a new experience!
:o)
