The MTV crews have been following Aaron for weeks while filming his second GayPorn (Hollywood Sex Club) and his appearance in Las Vegas at the GayVN Expo. If any one in this biz will be a breakout PornStar in 2008 I have no doubt it will be Aaron James!

I met Aaron James,Jesse Santana,Wolf Hudson,Rocco and Riley Burke on a visit to the set of Ass Crusin'. Over a week ago (okay Feb 27th) I made the 2 hour plus drive through what we San Diegans refer to as HeL-LA to West Hollywood as the the guest of John Patrone VP of marketing at Jet Set and director and new Studio partner Chris Steele. I want to thank Jason Curious for mentioning my Blog and introducing me to the Jet Set!


Originally I was apprehensive about "going on a porn shoot" since it tends to strip the fantasy from our image of porn as just hot men fucking and sucking like sweaty rutting sex pigs!

Okay now that we have that out in the open let me tell you a porn set is somewhat like a movie set (been there as well) its a process, its work and at times sheer boredom, leavened by moments of levity and then intense concentration. In experienced and capable hands the result by Digital Alchemy becomes Magic, the stuff of dreams and Fantasy.

Porn is a little more difficult to capture I think than drama and action in film or TV because we are dealing with real men, and a sexual encounter that the audience has a parochial interest in, they want to Blow their Wad hopefully at the same time as the Guys on screen!

I'll fill you in on a long day (12+hours)spent in WeHo, I arrived noonish just as Jesse Santana AJ and Rod Dailey were "finishing up" Yep that means Cum Shots and everyone one was very quiet but lurking SHHHH! I am thinking just like you DeWayne showing in time for the "money shot"! With the conclusion of the scene we have a break and I was encouraged to wander around this beautiful Hollywood home, think of some of the homes in LA Confidential and you get an idea, a house that is as big a star in the video as the actors. Nearly everyone is breaking for lunch (excellent catering EVEN by Hollywood standards FRESH SUSHI way to go Guys!) Having snacked my way north from San Diego I decided to wander into the huge backyard and observe legendary photographer Mick Hicks working his magic on Wolf Hudson. Hicks is known for his meticulous and beautiful photos, he truly knows how to capture young men at their best (and hardest) The models know Mick will make them look "Fabulous and Sexy" so they are patient with the 2 hours or more needed to capture each models "best look". I came away from watching Mick and his able assistant Andy with a new appreciation the time and preparation needed to make some simply stunning photography! Young men captured at their peak of Physical & Sexual Perfection by an absolute master of his craft!


During this down time between scenes I was able to chat with the Models, everyone was very approachable and not a bit shy having the press around. With a CyberSocket reporter,Porn Blog writer,a Photog for Jason Curious,and a 4 man TV crew from Montreal on hand, someone was always "being interviewed".

Jesse Santana wandered into the living room where Jet set had set up the Online laptop and sat on the couch, I asked him about signing an Exclusive in late 2007 with Jet Set after nearly 2 years in the business. Jesse noted it was a "great opportunity at Jet Set and unlike many porn stars who sign exclusives early in their career he was able to work for different studios and get a feel for the different players and standards in the industry. Jesse said "I'm impressed with Jet Set and how they treat their models, the professional yet fun working environment"

I pointed out Jesse is an overwhelming fan favorite in the Porn pantheon and one of the reasons has to be his insatiable sexual drive and personality, he is stunning, athletic a true sexual athlete and hands down the best bottom in the biz! AJ said he was really happy to have signed with Jet Set as an Exclusive in December and he signed because this newly revived Studio under Chris Steele is quickly becoming known for "exciting work, the hottest guys,,good pay and taking care of their models"

How best to describe Aaron James?

He is intense, serious about looking good and performing well on camera and he has a real interest in his performance, Is this sexy, is it Hot. Later that night after a long day and a break in a scene with Jesse Santana and Riley Burke AJ looked across to me and said "Was that a good scene,, was it Hot"

The guys work for ChiChi Larue,Falcon and other porn studios and were a great source of stories and porn gossip (which I love) I was thrilled to meet Rod Barry the recent GayVN lifetime achievement winner working this shoot, he was a little surprised I recognized him declaring his porn career was "So last Century and Ancient History"

Don't be fooled Rod Barry could step on set and teach the Porn Pups a thing or two! He is Rod FUCKING Barry a legend and simply stunning!

I spent a lot of time though the day with Jet Sets VP of marketing John Patrone, an easy man to talk to, passionate about this business and excitement at a newly revitalized Jet Set and the positive buzz the Chris Steele partnership is generating in Gay Pornoland.
We talked about the challenges all Gay Porn Studios face during this transition from DVD's to an Online World.

Jet Set is shooting in HD 16:9 like a lot of studios so they are ready for the transition to Blue Ray now that the format war is settled in Sony's favor. Jet Sets web site will premiere new videos this year at the same time as DVD releases so the pornsumer can choose his favorite delivery method, Instant gratification or Shrink wrapped Anticipation!

Do we remember when we waited a week or more for that new porno to arrive in the mail, ripping the envelope open to see the full color box, popping the cassette into the VHS recorder all while stripping and looking for the lube under the couch? No?

This photo was late in the evening, the 3rd scene of the day and after dinner (Pizza!) and on the call sheet was to be a scene with Riley Burke and AJ. As I was walking thought the living room I noticed Jesse Santana relaxed and watching American Idol on the big screen. His work on Ass Crusin' was over and he would be flying home manana.

I am in the back and I know there is some intense discussion on the scene being shot. I hear "Jesse's here do you think he is up for another go"

Stupid Question!

Moments later Jesse is stripped and in the shower prepping for an impromptu 3 way.
I don't know what prompted the change in plans or maybe it was Chris Steele just deciding to "amp up the scene" but when he called Action on scene 3 this was the highlight of my day! Jesse was supposedly asleep in the bedroom and heard the commotion in the kitchen (seriously later all the dishes fall out of the table onto the floor)

Jesse starts out fucking Riley Burke (I love this hairy chested stud) but soon he is riding Aaron James always rock hard cock! Yes guys I watched this scene unfold over an hour and a half and at no time even during action breaks was AJ anything but rigidly erect!

After 10:30 I decided to call it a day and head back to San Diego unfortunately I would miss AJ performing at the Here Lounge with Jason Sechrest later that night,,how did Aaron find the energy after a full days shoot to strip and dance near midnight?

Whew I was whipped just watching this shoot!
